Exceeding Lower Expectations Since 1985

Me: Ughhh, I wish I had more money.
Mom: Hey, I told you when you were college that when you picked English as your major, you may have to wait tables.*
Me: But I’m not waiting tables.
Mom: I know, you’re doing better than we expected.

*My mom has said this five thousand times since my freshman year of college.

Ohhh parents… I often ignore these kinda talks. My parents always told me music career really sucks and insignificant, I still do it anyway.

Ps. People with english major write the best stuff :)

Ouch.

… If it makes you feel any better, my mother is always asking me why I didn’t become an architect. And why I’m still in journalism. Moms are funny like that.
